The Chiropractic adjustment help your nervous system communicate optimally, improve movement, and support body awareness. This helps your body build healthier tissues, making muscles, joints, and nerves stronger and more resilient — leading to better circulation, nerve function, and overall mobility.
The Chiropractic Adjustment
What Occurs with the Adjustment?
The chiropractic adjustment takes your joints into the paraphysiological space for a brief moment in time. This space is slightly beyond the normal anatomical barrier of your range of motion in that joint. It isn’t quite a sprain because this signals the body to bring in healing factors to the affected area.
The chiropractic adjustment IS NOT “putting your bones back in place” or “re-aligning” you. Part of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex is that a lot of fascia (the body’s “glue”) has formed around a particular joint. When motion in a joint decreases, you lose proprioceptive feedback — and that is the “I feel out of alignment” perception patients often report.
What the chiropractic adjustment does is uses your bones as a lever to break up that “glue” holding the joints fixed on one another to influence the remodeling of the fascia to allow for better mobility.
