What to expect
Going to see any doctor for the first time can be nerve-wracking. Here is a layout of a typical procedure so there are no guessing what will happen.
Paperwork
We would like to know you in order to design a care plan specific for you. This includes demographics, the reason for your visit, and some lifestyle details.
History and exam
The doctor will take you into an exam room to go into detail about the reason for your visit. Then you will be assessed through a neurological exam and orthopedic tests to find out the pain-generating structures. X-rays will be taken, unless there are contraindications (i.e. pregnancy) or you can provide recent radiology reports within the last year, to get a bigger picture on you.
Treatment
The adjustment is the foundation behind any chiropractic visit. That is very useful as we are communicating directly with the central nervous system to make appropriate changes for the body to heal better. Beyond that, there are other soft tissue modalities that can be implemented into your visit to help calm down any muscles and break up adhesions in the fascia. The doctor will then discuss a treatment plan for how long to expect to return to your daily activities.
